1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using Practice Online, creating an account, signing in through Google or Microsoft, or purchasing a paid service, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform.
2. Eligibility and learner accounts
Practice Online is designed primarily for Grade 8 to 12 learners and may also provide access to parents, guardians, schools, tutors, guests and other authorised users.
If you are under the age at which you may legally consent to these terms on your own, your parent or legal guardian should review and accept them with you. A parent or guardian may be required to provide or confirm certain contact details where appropriate.
3. Accounts and security
You are responsible for providing accurate information, keeping your login credentials secure and notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
- You may not impersonate another person or create an account using false or misleading information.
- You should not share passwords, one-time codes or authentication links with others.
- Where you sign in with Google or Microsoft, your use of those services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
- We may require account verification or additional information to protect users and the platform.
4. The Practice Online service
Practice Online provides educational practice tools, including quizzes, Grade Challenges, timed assessments, results, progress information, solutions and related learning features. Features may differ by grade, subject, account type, subscription level or availability.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse Practice Online. In particular, you may not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, data or administration tools;
- interfere with the operation, security or performance of the platform;
- upload malicious code or use automated tools to scrape, copy or overload the service;
- use the platform to harass, threaten, defraud or harm another person;
- copy, republish, sell or distribute protected assessment content except where permission has been given;
- circumvent access controls, subscriptions, attempt limits or other platform restrictions.
6. Assessments, results and educational content
Practice Online is intended to support learning and preparation. Scores, automated marking, suggested solutions and progress information are educational tools and should not be treated as official school, examination board or certification results unless expressly stated.
We aim to provide accurate content and marking, but errors may occasionally occur. We may correct questions, answers, results, explanations or technical issues where necessary.
Practice Online may also analyse assessment results and learning activity to identify patterns such as topics learners tend to grasp quickly, topics that appear more difficult, common mistakes, strengths and areas that may need additional practice. These insights may be shown to learners or used to improve learning content, assessment design and educational support.
Practice Online may also publish or share broader educational insights with the public, schools, educators, researchers or other audiences where those insights are presented in aggregated, statistical or de-identified form and do not reasonably identify an individual learner. Examples may include overall topic performance, commonly misunderstood concepts, broad grade-level trends and general patterns in assessment performance.
Performance analysis is intended to support learning, research, public educational insight and platform improvement. It is not an official school judgement, examination result or high-stakes academic decision.
7. Fees, subscriptions and refunds
Certain features may be free, trial-based or paid. Where fees apply, the price, billing cycle and applicable terms will be shown before purchase. Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers.
Any refund entitlement will be handled in accordance with the refund terms displayed on Practice Online and applicable South African law.
8. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, Practice Online and its original content, software, layout, branding, diagrams, assessments, explanations and related materials are owned by or licensed to Practice Online and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the service for lawful educational purposes. This does not transfer ownership of any content or software to you.
9. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using Practice Online, you acknowledge that personal information will be processed as described there.
10. Third-party services
Practice Online may use or link to third-party services such as Google, Microsoft, payment providers, email services, hosting platforms and cloud storage. We are not responsible for the separate terms, policies or availability of third-party services.
11. Availability and changes
We may update, add, remove, suspend or change features from time to time. We do not guarantee that the platform will always be available without interruption, delay or error.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe there has been fraud, misuse, a security risk, a material breach of these terms or conduct that may harm Practice Online or other users.
You may stop using Practice Online at any time. Where account deletion is available, deletion may be subject to legal, security, financial or record-keeping requirements.
13. Disclaimers
Practice Online is provided for educational support. We do not guarantee any specific school mark, examination result, admission outcome or academic improvement.
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an “as available” basis and may contain interruptions, errors or inaccuracies.
14. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law. To the extent permitted by law, Practice Online will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the platform.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be dealt with in accordance with applicable South African law and the jurisdiction of the competent South African courts.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of Practice Online after an update may constitute acceptance of the revised terms where permitted by law.
